Here are my emails, back & forth, with GEICO regarding the cancellation of their ads on the Glenn Beck show, due to an outcry about Beck's episodes on Van Jones. He's the former self-proclaimed communist radical who started STORM.  This is the same canned email others have received. I'll post if I hear back from them. We've been with them for a very long time. I may be shopping around for car insurance soon -- and boycotting yet another company.

These are in reverse order -- so, start at the bottom.

Thank you Patrick, for your very quick reply.

I happen to like Glenn Beck. He has stood by our country while a socialist/communist & all his people are taking over our great country, one agenda at a time. I consider Glenn Beck a great patriot.

Van Jones' history is not a controversial subject -- it is an iron-clad fact: he's a "former" black radical & communist!. Van Jones started the communist organization called Standing Together to Organize a Revolutionary Movement (STORM). He has associations with the Weatherman.

Now, are you all taking a stand in defense of HIM? One of the 43 CZARS?

The man who occupies the Oval Office at the White House is there as a usurper, in my opinion. He has FIFTY-ONE named czar jobs to fill. Only 8 of those remain unassigned! These people he has appointed to be his "secret government" are NOT listed on the WH's Appointee page. GA Rep. Jack Kingston is livid & is trying to stop this.

When you state: "If the inflammatory nature of the comments on a program overshadows our message and causes GEICO to be drawn into a national debate, we are likely to reconsider where we place our marketing messages, which is what we did."

I believe GEICO planted themselves right in the big middle of the political issue of the socialist state-run/government-run health care when you advertised on NightLine, June 24, 2009, during the mega-thon government-run media segment for ObamaCare, by ABC.

But, back to Van Jones & the reason GEICO cancelled their advertising. I hope GEICO reconsiders & stands your ground as a patriot to this country.

    Dear Kat :

Thank you for using GEICOís online services.

First of all, thank you for your business and also for your interest in this matter.

This week we took action to move our marketing messages from the Glenn Beck show and you are wondering why.

Well, as a GEICO policyholder, you deserve an answer.

If the inflammatory nature of the comments on a program overshadows our message and causes GEICO to be drawn into a national debate, we are likely to reconsider where we place our marketing messages, which is what we did.

GEICO delivers very important messages through its major marketing campaigns: weíre saving customersí dollars, weíre easy to do business with, weíre looking out for our policyholders. Thatís what we hope the public hears and sees and focuses on.

As a company, we do not take positions on controversial issues.

As an advertiser, while a national debate on issues can be healthy and appropriate, we donít see ourselves in the role of taking part in those debates.

Our business is auto insurance. We want to bring people value and we attempt to reach large audiences with that message.

It is of little benefit to us if a program gets so much attention that our message is drowned out.

We appreciate your interest and look forward to serving all your insurance needs.

    Sincerely,

    Patrick Pilney

This is a letter Bill sent to the Color of Change, in response to the call to boycott Glenn Beck's advertisers. (Bill's email address & last name have been redacted.) ~ Kat

Subject:    Terrific idea of advertiser Boycott of Glenn Becks show
From:    "William xxxxxx" <xxxxxxxxxx@xxxxxxx.com>
Date:    Tue, Aug 18, 2009 3:50 pm
To:    <media@colorofchange.org>

Dear sirs,
This is one of the most brilliant ideas that I have seen in months. While I am all for it,may I respectfully request that this be expanded to ALL of these useless slanted Biased Main Stream Medias like ABC,CBS,FOX,MSNBC NBC, and CNN just for a start. It is my belief ALL are guilty of "Censorship by Omission" and do not report the facts of our society but only drivel mandated by the Suits of these various so called News Organizations.
These so called News Organizations are getting fat on the millions of dollars paid to them while double dipping their hands in the pockets of the cable subscribers who pay for these unsolicited reams of SPAM, all the while stealing the programming time of the paying customer. Yes ! Like I said ,this is a brilliant idea and I hope I can rely on you to put a stop to this outrage.Thank you,Bill xxxxxxx,Houston

It could be because you are stating, first, that you support their Glenn Beck boycott, but I know that you are ribbing them that if they are going to boycott Glenn Beck, then they need to boycott the other MSM.
